The Department of French Studies and Modern Languages and the AUP Library invite you to a special event featuring two leading voices in contemporary Francophone bandes dessin茅es. Franco-Ivorian writer Marguerite Abouet, author of the acclaimed series "Aya of Yopougon" and "Akissi," will be joined by French illustrator Sylvain Savoia, known for "The Forgotten Slaves of Tromelin" and for his graphic adaptation of Ga毛l Faye鈥檚 best-selling novel "Small Country" (created in collaboration with Marzena Sowa). Together, they will share their perspectives on creating graphic narratives inspired by Africa and African (hi)stories.
