AUP has partnered with Canvas to reserve up to 50 single studios in their newly renovated residence (opened in August 2024) housing an exciting mixed-community student hub in the La D茅fense district. As Paris鈥� metropolitan business district, the La D茅fense neighborhood has everything to offer residents. In this bustling neighborhood just on the outskirts of the city, residents will have everything at their fingertips, from bars and restaurants to a shopping mall and cinema. Residents have the best of both worlds, as they can enjoy living on the outskirts of the city, all the while having easy access to central Paris.

In the north of the La D茅fense neighborhood, the Canvas residence offers a unique location just a short walk from the la D茅fense business district and a quick metro ride from the heart of Paris. With over 600 studios and a dynamic student community, the residence has been designed to create opportunities for meaningful exchange and lively programming with its intentional emphasis on cozy and comfortable communal areas. In addition to the fully furnished singles studios, residents also have access to multiple lounges and meetings rooms, a study room, a fitness room, a garden, a rooftop, a game room, a music room, and a cinema room within the residence. Our students will also have an AUP Resident Assistant on-site who will be available to support their semester at AUP and to help them make the most out of their time in Paris. Our partnership with Canvas provides a housing option in a residence with a diverse student population in the heart of the bustle and excitement of La D茅fense.

With its beautiful communal areas, its focus on residence programming, and its comfortable and modern design, Canvas offers a great opportunity for students to build strong community within their residence, while also enjoying the quiet and privacy of an individual living space when needed. It is the perfect environment for first-year students to build a home away from home, connect with their peers at AUP, and meet students from other universities who may be discovering Paris just as they are. While La D茅fense is not as centrally located as some of our other housing options, it is still within a quick metro ride of the University 鈥� however if you want to burst the AUP bubble and meet a diverse group of students, both French and international, who are discovering the city just as you are, Canvas is the perfect place to do so.

ROOMMATE REQUESTS IN HOUSING PREFERENCE FORM

Roommate requests in the housing preference form听cannot听be made for Canvas, as the residence only includes single studios (two students听cannot听both be guaranteed placement in two single studios in Canvas through the roommate request process).
